La scoperta di Milano, a collection of newspaper articles that appeared in Bertoldo and Il Corriere della Sera during the years 1936 to 1941, marks Giovannino Guareschi’s first foray into collecting and publishing his previously serialized fiction. The volume, autobiographical in scope, humorously documents Guareschi’s impressions of lively city life in Milan, his relationship with his wife, and the supernatural discovery of his personal Guardian Angel.
