Jean-Christophe is the ten volume novel by the French author, Romain Rolland, published initially in serial form in the Parisian review Cahiers de la Quinzaine from 1904 to 1912. This novel largely contributed to Rolland receiving the Nobel Prize for literature in 1915, and had previously been awarded the Grand Prix de littérature from the Académie française in 1913. Translated into English by Gilbert Cannan between 1911 and 1913, it is now available in over forty languages.
