The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid was published in 2007 and is the Pakistan-born author's second novel; it won the 2008 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, the 2008 South Bank Show Literature Award, The Arts Council of England Decibel Award, the Commonwealth Writers Prize (Eurasia region), the Index on Censorship TR Fyvel Award, the James Tait Memorial Prize and the Australia-Asia Literary Award; it was also on the shortlists for the 2007 Booker prize.
