In preparation for a possible war with Spain, the British Parliament orders reinforcement of the Mediterranean fleet and Admiral Haddock's squadron sails to patrol the coast of southern Spain. In addition, ships are sent to the West Indies, and troops to Georgia, where there is a border dispute with Spain.
