By The Paris Peace Treaty between Britain, France, Spain and U.S. Britain recognises the independence of U.S.A. (and gives the United States all land east of the Mississippi River, south of Canada, and north of the Floridas); recovers her West Indian possessions; France recovers St. Lucia, Tobago, Senegal, Goree and East Indian·possessions; Spain retains Minorca and receives back Florida; France may fortify Dunkirk (a separate treaty between Britain and Holland is signed May 20th, 1784).
