Emyr Owen Humphreys, who celebrated his hundredth birthday in 2019 by publishing a collection of new poems, is widely regarded as the leading anglophone fiction writer of twentieth-century Wales, its most distinguished person of letters, and a giant figure on the country’s post-war cultural scene.
