Kuhelika (mist, enigma, mystery; translated as Kuhelika and The Revolutionary) was the last of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s three novels, appearing in book form in 1931. It began to be serialized in Naoroz, when it started publication in mid-1927. When the journal stopped after five issues, the remaining instalments were published in Saogat. While Rabindranath Tagore’s novels have been translated, discussed and some, like Ghare Baire and Chokher Bali, also made into popular movies, Kazi Nazrul Islam’s novels have generally been brushed aside by scholars.
