A Storm of Swords (2000) is the third volume in George R.R. Martin’s epic neomedieval fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire (1996-present). The novel was generally praised by critics and amassed Hugo, Nebula, and Locus nominations, winning the Locus award. A Storm of Swords is famously adapted as the third and fourth seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones (2011-2019).

A Storm of Swords continues recounting the power struggle between several noble houses on the fantastical continent of Westeros as they vie to seat themselves on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.
