Apart from the 36 plays that made it into the First Folio edition (1623), there are a few that float around the edges of the Shakespeare canon, attributed at one time or another to the bard himself or to a collaboration with him. Such plays include Edward III, published anonymously in 1596, though many think it is partly Shakespeare’s and is now included in both the Riverside and the Oxford editions; Pericles, published in a 1609 quarto and then in the Third Folio of 1664, and now accepted as a Shakespeare collaboration with George Wilkins; The Two Noble Kinsmen, published in a quarto of 1634 as a collaboration between Shakespeare and John Fletcher; A Yorkshire Tragedy, published in a 1608 quarto and …
