A Clash of Kings (1998) is the second volume in George R.R. Martin’s unfinished epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire (1996-present). Like its predecessor, critics responded positively to A Clash of Kings, and the novel won a Locus award and received a Nebula award nomination. A Clash of Kings is most famously adapted as the second season of HBO’s Game of Thrones (2011-2019).
