Julia Kristeva is widely known for her work in the fields of psychoanalysis, linguistics, and literary theory, with her fictional texts receiving less attention than her theoretical ones. When approaching fiction, Kristeva often chooses the detective novel genre: Le Vieil Homme et les loups [The Old Man and the Wolves], Possessions [Possessions], and Meurtre à Byzance [Murder in Byzantium].
