Like the three Discours sur la Condition des Grands [Discourses on the Condition of the Great], the Entretien avec Monsieur de Sacy sur Épictète et Montaigne [Conversation with M. de Sacy on Epictetus and Montaigne] was not written directly by Blaise Pascal. Nicolas Fontaine included the Entretien in his Mémoires ou histoire des Solitaires de Port-Royal [Memoirs or history of the Solitaires of Port-Royal], written between 1696 and 1700. In 1728, Pierre Nicolas Desmolets published, for the first time, the Entretien in the volume Œuvres posthumes ou Suite des Pensées de M. Pascal, extraites du Manuscrit de M. l’abb&e…
