Monday or Tuesday is the only collection of short stories published by Virginia Woolf in her life, while several other works of short fiction appeared separately in magazines and were collected in volumes only after her death. The collection came out in 1921, presenting eight stories which varied in themes and narrative but which clearly showed the nucleus and style of her new directions in writing. The edition had the cover designed by Vanessa Bell, and contained the stories “A Haunted House”, “A Society”, “Monday or Tuesday”, “An Unwritten Novel”, “The String Quartet”, “Blue and Green”, “Kew Gardens” and “The Mark on the Wall”.
