The House on Mango Street is one of those fascinating books that almost anyone can read, at almost any age, and find it a moving experience. Readers from various cultural origins, regardless one’s level of education, enthusiastically read and experience its story with insightful appreciation. Comprising a collection of lyrical vignettes (her first writing was poetry), Sandra Cisneros’s classic is, in one sense, a simple book, but it is a profound book as well.
