Robert Bly's Old Man Rubbing His Eyes (1975) is a
collection of twenty “snowy fields” poems. First published in this
chapbook, these poems were reprinted as the first section of Bly's
This Tree Will Be Here for a Thousand Years, originally
published in 1979, and extensively revised in 1992. See the entries
on Bly's Silence in the Snowy Fields and This Tree Will
Be Here for a Thousand Years for more on these poems.
