A Report from the Border: New & Rescued Poems, Bloodaxe Books, 2003 is the sixteenth collection of Anne Stevenson’s poems to have been published in book form, containing thirty-eight poems, mostly written since the publication of Granny Scarecrow in 2000. Fifteen of the new poems had been published by The Thumbscrew Press a year earlier, in 2002, in a pamphlet, Hearing with my Fingers. A Report from the Border also includes new versions of several poems “rescued”, as Stevenson puts it in the full title and in the Acknowledgements, from previously published books:
