Evening Snow Will Bring Such Peace (1990) continues David Adams Richards’ second Miramichi trilogy, begun in 1988 with Nights Below Station Street and concluded in 1993 by For Those Who Hunt the Wounded Down. All three novels are set in the same fictional town in northern New Brunswick, Canada, and most of the characters in Evening Snow appeared first in Nights. At the heart of the action is a young couple, Ivan and Cindi Basterache. In the earlier novel, Ivan played a minor role as a comical, somewhat wild 16-year-old living on his own, while Cindi was in the group of Adele Walsh’s high school girlfriends (of the central Walsh family).
