In the five short stories organized as a Prologue, Epilogue and a body of three texts supra-titled “Nostalgia,” the eponymous book unveils some of the most powerful visions of Cărtărescu’s fictional universe, and begins to unwind the narrative thread which not only connects each story to the next, but opens up paths to Cărtărescu’s later novels.
