The Revelation of Jesus Christ (1679) fits far more obviously into the genre of prophecy than Wentworth’s more autobiographical publications A True Account (1676) and A Vindication (1677). The text consists of twenty-seven revelations that occurred on specific dates between 1678 and 1679, many of them given in verse form. According to the account provided in the preamble: “these Verses falling into the hand of one, that was once an Enemy to her, they so wrought upon her, that she resolved to have them Printed” (A2r).
