Psyche; or, the Legend of Love, is a long six-canto (372 stanzas) Spenserian allegory written by the Anglo-Irish poet, Mary Tighe (1772-1810), between 1801 and 1803 while she was living at Rossana, Co. Wicklow. In 1805, she had fifty copies published privately for distribution amongst her family and close friends, and in 1811, after her death, Longmans republished it with some of her shorter verse as Psyche, with Other Poems, a collection which went through five editions between 1811 and 1816.
