Farmer in the Sky (1950) – Bill Lerner and his father emigrate to Ganymede, a large moon of the planet Jupiter, to start a new life. They want to be farmers, and the boy learns how to apply his scouting experience – both in what he learned and in the friends he made – to creating soil out of raw rock, while the father works as a civil engineer for the colony.
