The radio play Die Korrektur, written with Inge Müller in 1957, builds on the success of Der Lohndrücker [The Scab, 1956] in presenting the problems of socialist reconstruction in a provocative, highly condensed form designed to “bring the struggle between old and new […] to the new audience which would decide its outcome”. The action is now set in one of the large industrial combines (here “Schwarze Pumpe”) built in the mid-fifties in the attempt to achieve rapid increases in production.
