After an absence from the stage of seven years, Max Frisch made a triumphant return with Biografie: Ein Spiel [Biography: A Game, 1967], a play many consider to be the more successful realization of themes and techniques already employed in his 1964 experimental novel Mein Name sei Gantenbein [A Wilderness of Mirrors].
