Treasure Island is an adventure story by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Originally entitled The Sea Cook, Stevenson’s first novel was given its published title by James Henderson, the editor of the children’s periodical Young Folks, in which the story first appeared between October 1881 and January 1882. It was published in book form the following year by Cassell & Company, Ltd.
