The Protestant League or Torgau is formed under Elector John of Saxony, Philip, Landgrave of Hesse, the princes of Brunswick-Luneburg, Anhalt and Mecklenberg and the city of Magdeburg. Martin Luther was present in the town and drafted the constitution of the League.
