
This is an enlarged and coloured detail from J. C. Visscher’s engraved panorama of London (1616). Despite the picture’s clarity, scholars doubt Visscher’s accuracy in terms of proportions, angles, and the small number of sides to the exterior polygon wall. It was printed three years after the first Globe burned down.
