Formation of the Revolutionary Tribunal of Paris, intended to prevent the kind of massacres seen in September. The Committee of Public Safety discovers evidence and presents it to the Tribunal for judgment. In Paris the first of 2750 death sentences were awarded 15 April 1793, the last on 6 May 1795, around 110 a month. However, in the same period 2250 of the accused were acquitted.
