NASA’s Pathfinder, a U.S. robotic spacecraft, was developed to
land on and explore the surface of Mars. Pathfinder was launched on
4 December 1996 and it landed on Mars on 4 July 1997. After
landing, Pathfinder gathered scientific information and took
pictures of Mars.
