In 1972, Time Incorporated, founded by Henry Luce and Briton
Hadden, moved into the cable television business. It founded Home
Box Office (HBO), which became a leading premium cable station. HBO
has recently been acclaimed for such shows as The Sopranos,
Deadwood, The Wire et cetera.
