Peace treaty is signed at Cateau-Cambresis between England and France: Calais to remain in French hands for 8 years and then be restored to England under a penalty of 500,000 crowns; both countries undertake to restrain from acts of aggression in Scotland and any such act by England to nullify France's obligation to return Calais.
