Britain and Portugal sign a secret Treaty of Windsor. By the terms of this agreement, Britain promises to protect Portugal's hold over its colonies, while the Portuguese promise to aid the British in their war against the Boers by obstructing the passage of munitions from Delagoa Bay to the Transvaal.
