The results of the British general election confirms a majority for the Conservatives (under the leadership of Lord Salisbury) in alliance with the Liberals Unionists. Together they command a majority of 152, since the Conservatives win 340 seats, and the Liberal Unionists 71. Their biggest rivals the Liberals win only 177, and the Irish Nationalists 82.
