The US Presidential election is won by Grover Cleveland, the Democrat candidate, with 277 electoral votes, on a policy platform opposing the McKinley tariff and the Force bill. His opponents, Republican Benjamin Harrison, and James B. Weaver, Populist, receive 145 and 22 electoral votes respectively.
