After a meeting in Vienna, the powers of Britain, Austria and France propose four conditions of peace between Russia and Turkey. They call for Russia to abandon its claims to a protectorate over the Sultan's Christian subjects, for the revision of the Straits settlement in the interests of European powers, for free passage of the mouths of the Danube River, and for a guarantee of the integrity of the Danubian principalities and of Serbia.
