After Frederick VII of Denmark announces that Schleswig would be incorporated into Danish territory under the terms of a new liberal constitution, the German-speaking majority population in the Duchies of Schleswig and Holstein rebel and form a government. Prussia recognises the autonomy of the Duchies from Denmark.
