Russia and Prussia sign the Treaty of St. Petersburg. By the terms of this agreement, Russia restores all the territory it had seized from its Prussian neighbour, and a defensive and offensive alliance is formed. This treaty removes Russia from the theatre of the Seven Years' War, and allows Frederick II of Prussia to concentrate his resources on his other European enemies.
