The Seven Years' War begins when Frederick II of Prussia invades Saxony, on the pretext of having just learnt of the Franco-Austrian alliance, and takes Dresden. Prussia is allied with Britain, while France and Austria form their opponents. Holland and Sweden remain neutral.
