Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI and Frederick William of Prussia sign the Treaty of Berlin. By the terms of this agreement, the Emperor recognises Prussia's claim to Berg and Ravenstein, while Prussia guarantees the succession delineated by the Pragmatic Sanction.
