Prussia and the Holy Roman Empire sign the Treaty of Wusterhausen. By the terms of this agreement, Prussia leaves the alliance of Herrenhausen (of the previous August), and guarantees the Pragmatic Sanction. Frederick William undertakes to aid Austria in war by providing 10 000 troops, while Emperor Charles VI gives vague assurance about the succession in Jülich, Berg and Ravenstein.
