A Peace treaty signed between the Quadruple Alliance and Spain forces Philip V to give up all the territory seized by Spain in the foregoing war. Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI gives up his claim to the throne of Spain, and Philip V renounces his claims in Italy, but demands that his son Charles be allowed to succeed to the Duchies of Parma of Piacenza and the lands in Tuscany after the death of childless Antonio Farnese. Savoy gains the lands of Sardinia, making the Duke of Savoy henceforth King of Sardinia, but in return Savoy has to give up Sicily.
