France signs the Peace of Baden with the Holy Roman Empire, completing the peace terms that had been outlined in the treaties of Utrecht and Rastatt. Its terms gave Austria the Southern Netherlands and the Spanish territories in Italy (Naples, Milan, Mantua and Sardinia), while France kept Alsace and Strasbourg.
