Gustavus II of Sweden defeats the Imperial army of Count TiIly
at the Lech, near the confluence of the Rivers Lenz and Danube. In
the course of the battle, Tilly is mortally wounded, and dies on
30th April. The Swedish army proceeds to lay siege to Ingoldstadt,
but fails in the attempt.
