In the Thirty Years War, the Protestant allies take aggressive action. An army from Saxony invades Bohemia, while Gustavus II of Sweden, despite advice to march on Vienna, crosses Thuringia and Franconia, towards the Rhine, in order to try to relieve Protestants under the repressive rule of Maximilian of Bavaria.
