Sir John Eliot MP is tried in the Court of King's Bench for his part in the Commons Protestation of March 1629. In the course of his trial, he defiantly denies the court's jurisdiction to try an MP. However, he is fined £2,000 and imprisoned in the Tower for a sentence of unspecified length.
