James I of England rejects a request to aid his son-in-law, Frederick V of the Palatinate, in gaining the throne of Bohemia (although he later promises to support him if the Palatinate is invaded). Frederick has been hesitating over the decision, especially as he is a Calvinist and Bohemia's population is majority Catholic or Hussite, but two days later he finally does accept the throne.
