James I and VI meets with the Scottish Parliament. He faces opposition to his proposal that the Scottish lords should surrender their hereditable jurisdictions to the Crown. However, the Parliament approves five Articles of Religion that introduce Anglican principles to Scottish worship, as does the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland the following August.
