Lady Arabella Stuart dies in the Tower of London. Cousin to James I and VI, she married William Seymour, Earl of Hertford, in 1610. However, since both Seymour and she herself held ancestral claims to the English throne, James perceived her to be a threat, and kept her imprisoned, where she died after a mental breakdown.
