James I's second Parliament meets, sitting until 7th June but ultimately a failure, known as 'The Addled Parliament'. While James was desperate for funds and planned for the granting of a 'benevolence' to him, the Commons is determined to resist further taxation, refusing to vote supplies until the question of royal impositions is settled. Neither side will compromise and ultimately no solution is found.
