A meeting of the Diet of Ratisbon collapses when Protestant representatives angrily deny the right of the Catholic majority to bind the minority. This protest comes in response to Maximilian of Bavaria's annexation the previous year of the predominantly Protestant imperial city of Donauwörth, on the orders of the imperial Aulic council.
