A Protestant revolt breaks out in Hungary against the Habsburgs. The rebels join forces with nobleman Stephen Bocskai, who invades Hungary from Transylvania. He later allies with the Ottomans, and is recognised by the Sultan of Turkey as Prince of Transylvania .
